1. All important documents should be scanned and emailed to yourself so as to have an
on-line copy to access.
2. Obtain an non immigrant B visa as usually quite simple from ones home country not so
easy once you are here and it is the first step to obtaining other visa like work permits.
3. Obtain a certified copy of your criminal record or lack thereof as most countries will only
issue them to you in person and can not obtain one once here.
4. Ensure your credit cards are not expiring during your absence.
5. Inquire as to your bank being able to do international money transfers and be sure you
have on-line access to your accounts.
6. Have someone in the home country accept responsibility to do some home country
running around for you and have a second person arranged for the same.
7. Make note of the time difference from your home country and Thailand both in regular
time and daylight saving time if your country uses daylight savings time.
8. Bring copies of College or University graduation papers with you as they are easier to
obtain there than they are from here.
9. Set up a Skype (computer to computer free anywhere voice conversation) account.
10. Ensure all you medications are readily available in your desitination country.
11. Confirm your health plan covers your destination medical and hospital expense.
